Today, nobody pays us. The site is new, so no program is active yet. When one is, the table above will change and every page that links to that company will say so at the top.
Energy switching programs pay a fixed amount per approved switch, not a share of your bill. That matters: we have no incentive to steer you to a dearer plan, because a dearer plan pays us exactly the same as a cheaper one. Where the pay differs between companies, it differs by a few tens of dollars, and that is not allowed to touch the result.
No, and no commercial comparison site does. Switching services only show the retailers that pay them. For a full list of every plan available at your address, use the free government comparator: Energy Made Easy in NSW, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and the ACT, or Victorian Energy Compare in Victoria.
No. A fee is paid by the switching service or retailer, not added to your bill, and the plan price is the same as going direct. If you would rather we earned nothing, go direct to the retailer: our calculator works either way.
No. The calculator runs on the rates you enter or the published rates in our retailer register, and it ranks by your annual cost alone. It has no input for who pays us. If your current plan comes out cheaper, it says stay put.
